Mass execution: the russians shot Ukrainian prisoners in the Pokrovsky direction

On October 1, information appeared about the alleged shooting of 16 Ukrainian soldiers captured by Russian troops.

The Prosecutor General’s office commented on this war crime of the Russian Federation.

Russian servicemen took the lives of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Mykolaivka and Sukhyi Yar settlements in the Pokrovskyі district.

Although the Ukrainian military calmly left the plantation and lined up, the Russians deliberately opened fire on them, and the wounded with signs of life were killed at close range.

Such actions qualify as a grave international crime that violates the Geneva Convention. Therefore, a pre-trial investigation was started under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

“This is the most massive known case of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war on the front line. And this is another evidence that the killing and torture of prisoners is not an accident, but a purposeful policy of the Russian military and political leadership,” commented the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
