Massive attack on Kyiv: 4 dead, about 30 injured, three people rescued from rubble

After the nightly combined attack on Kyiv, rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine continue to dismantle the rubble at the sites of the hits. According to official data, at least 4 people died, about 30 were injured. Fragments of bodies were also found on the ground, a complex identification procedure is ahead.

A newly created special mobile detachment of the State Emergency Service “Delta” is working at one of the most destroyed locations. Thanks to its work, three people were pulled out alive from under the rubble. There is a high probability that there are still victims under the ruins.

Climbers, dog handlers, psychologists, engineers, fire and rescue equipment are involved in the elimination of the consequences. Robotic equipment is being used to clear the territories faster.

About 500 rescuers and 1,000 police officers are working in the capital at the same time. More than 60 police investigative and operational groups are already on the ground: they are accepting citizens’ statements and documenting the consequences of the Russian shelling.

The number of victims may increase, rescuers continue to work at the sites of the strikes.

Damage was recorded in at least seven districts of the capital:

Darnytskyi district: part of a five-story building was destroyed by a direct hit. High-rise buildings, a kindergarten, private buildings, and cars were also damaged. The rescue operation is ongoing.

Dniprovskyi district: a 25-story building was hit, cars caught fire near a 9-story building. Dozens of cars were damaged in several locations.

Shevchenkivskyi district: residential and non-residential buildings, offices, and an educational institution were damaged. Fires, at least 9 cars were destroyed.

Solomyanskyi district: a fire in a private house, which was managed to be localized.

Holosiivskyi district: fires in several locations, more than 10 houses damaged, cars destroyed.

Desnyanskyi and Obolonskyi districts: debris and damage in non-residential buildings.

In total, more than 20 points of impact were recorded, the number of destroyed or damaged objects is approaching a hundred, thousands of broken windows.

Debris from downed air targets was found in various parts of Kyiv. Rescuers urge citizens not to approach them and to immediately report such cases.
