Massive Russian attack on Odesa and the region: three people injured, the Palace of Sports destroyed and high-rise buildings damaged

On the night of September 7, Russian troops carried out a massive attack on the city of Odesa and the settlements of the region, using strike drones and missiles. This was reported by the press services of the police and the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office.

As a result of the Russian strike in Odesa, the Palace of Sports sports and concert complex was partially destroyed, two high-rise buildings were damaged, as well as other civilian infrastructure facilities.

The top floor of one high-rise building caught fire, and rescuers were extinguishing a fire on the fourth floor of a nine-story residential building. 17 pieces of equipment and 92 firefighters were involved in the liquidation.

It is currently known that three people were injured during the attack on Odesa. Two women, aged 73 and 27, were hospitalized, and a 36-year-old man received treatment on the spot.

In addition, significant damage was recorded in the Odesa district and in one of the villages of the region: a five-story residential building, grain warehouses, and seven cars were damaged.

Prosecutors, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, the police, and investigative and operational groups are working at the sites of the hits. Police officers are documenting the consequences of the Russian attack: collecting evidence, interviewing eyewitnesses, and ensuring law and order. 165 law enforcement officers have been involved in carrying out the tasks.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war following the shelling.
