More than 110 Ukrainian soldiers were executed after being captured

The International Criminal Court investigates cases of torture of Ukrainians in places of detention.

The Russians executed more than 110 Ukrainian soldiers in captivity.

Yuri Belousov, head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, said this.

To the journalist’s remark that law enforcement officers are investigating 28 criminal cases related to the murders of 62 Ukrainian soldiers, the prosecutor replied:

“In the cases you mentioned, the emphasis is on executions at the time of capture. Therefore, 62 cases appear here. However, in total, more than 110 of our soldiers were executed after being captured in places of detention. This is the same “Olenivka”.

Regarding the execution of our defender Oleksandr Matsievskyi, who was shot for saying “Glory to Ukraine”, Belousov said that the investigation is establishing the identities of his killers.

“The work is underway, but the matter is difficult, but we are moving, gradually narrowing the circle to who it could be. We believe that there is a prospect,” said a representative of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The International Criminal Court, together with Ukrainian investigators, is working on the investigation of torture and ill-treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russian captivity.

“Torture in places of detention is becoming so systematic that it clearly shows that it is an integral part of the policy of the Russian Federation,” the prosecutor said.

“This is a mass, not isolated cases, that’s why it is the focus of attention of the International Criminal Court,” Belousov added.
