A significant influx of migrants from Russia is observed in the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk region. According to the regional military administration, over 7,000 visitors were registered there in the last two months. This was reported by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Artem Lysogor: “They are hoping for “squeezed-out” housing – the number of migrants is increasing in the so-called LРR. These are representatives of remote regions of Russia and citizens of Central Asian countries who have not been able to settle down in Russia. Most of them come from families”.
Artem Lysogor reports that the Russian authorities intend to seize the real estate of evacuated local residents. Among the new arrivals are residents of remote Russian regions and natives of Central Asian countries who were unable to settle in Russia. Many come with whole families.
“These people expect to receive housing taken from the local population. The number of such migrants is constantly increasing in the territories that the Russians call the LPR,” Lysohor said.
