The Russians stole more than 80,000 tons of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. This is a new batch of this year’s grain harvest. The National Resistance Center calls for information about such criminals to be able to bring them to justice for their actions.
According to the Center, since the beginning of this year, the Russians have organized more than 15 such “flights” with Ukrainian cargo from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia from the port of Mariupol.
“The theft of Ukrainian bread from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine takes place under the leadership of Russian military officials and local collaborators who cooperated with the Russian Federation. Zakhary Dzioev, deputy head of the federal agency of sea and river transport, which is engaged in the export of stolen Ukrainian grain.
The state company created by the Russians exported almost 212,000 tons of grain with an approximate value of $46 million from the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region in 2023 alone. Ukrainian grain is exported to Turkey, Libya and Israel, and European companies are also involved in this.
The European Union is preparing to impose tariffs on grain imports from Russia and Belarus to appease farmers and some member states. It is expected that this will lead to an increase in prices by at least 50%, which will “destroy” demand.
