The head of the regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, spoke about the consequences of the shelling of Nikopol region on October 11.

“On October 11, Russian troops hit Nikopol with a rocket. They went to the educational institution. Three dead are known. A 72-year-old man and two women, 60 and 70 years old. Two men, 71 and 24 years old, were also injured,” wrote Lukashuk.

A gymnasium building, an infrastructure facility and a grocery store, 50 residential buildings, 18 farm buildings, 17 solar panels, a car and 2 power lines were damaged.

“In the morning, the Russians attacked the Nikopol district several times with artillery and kamikaze drones. Gatily in Nikopol, Marganetska and Pokrovska communities. They fired about three dozen shots and hit with two drones. An infrastructure object in the city was damaged,” Lukashuk added

As of 6:35 p.m., rescuers retrieved the body of one more person from under the rubble of the gymnasium building.

Thus, the total number of victims increased to three. Two more people were injured.

“One more person is currently under the rubble. Emergency and rescue operations are continuing,” the State Emergency Service clarified.

According to preliminary data, in addition to the partial destruction of the gymnasium, 42 private residential buildings, 18 farm buildings, a shop, power lines, a car, and solar panels were damaged in the city.
