New spontaneous burials were found in Donetsk region

People died as a result of hostilities in the spring and summer of 2022.

The police exhumed the dead in the village of Bogorodichne, Donetsk region. The bodies of five people were found in improvised burials on the streets and in the yards of private houses.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Police of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.

The law enforcement officers say that the bodies of men aged 60, 65 and 72 were exhumed. They died as a result of being hit by enemy shells between mid-May and early June last year. The identities of two more victims have not yet been established. Meanwhile, the bodies were sent to the morgue in Slovyansk. Forensic experts are to conduct an examination and collect DNA samples, after which the dead will be buried in local cemeteries.

It should be noted that in May-June 2022, the Russians tried to enter Sviatohirsk and shelled all the surrounding villages with various types of weapons. Only ruins remain of the once picturesque Bogorodychny. As a result of shelling, many local residents died, whose bodies are still being found.

The village was under Russian occupation from the summer of 2022 to September 11. During the summer, the village was almost completely destroyed during hostilities. There is not a single surviving building left. In the winter of 2023, two men remained in the village.

The people of Mariupol who managed to get out of the city told about life under Russian shelling, their neighbors and acquaintances often died right next to their houses, but it was not possible to take their bodies and bury them properly, because the Russians did not stop shelling for a moment.
