Night attack on Kharkiv

On the night of February 2, Kharkiv again became a target for Russian attacks. This time, the city’s Slobodsky district was hit, where a Russian drone hit it and caused an explosion that caused a large-scale fire.

According to the mayor of Kharkiv, the incident occurred around midnight. The drone attacked a production and warehouse building in the city center that belonged to a local clothing manufacturing company. The explosion damaged warehouses where textiles and polyester raw materials were stored. The fire spread over almost 2,000 sq. m. of territory.

Units of the State Emergency Service arrived promptly at the scene. In total, 45 rescuers and 8 departments of the State Emergency Service were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire was contained in an hour and a half. Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths as a result of the attack. In turn, the spokesman for the regional prosecutor’s office, Dmytro Chubenko, clarified that the attack was carried out using Shahed drones. This is the third such attack on Kharkiv in the past week. Before that, Russian drones struck the Kholodnohirsky district of the city, resulting in the death of one person and injuries.

These attacks endanger the safety of civilians and once again emphasize the need to protect civilian objects from Russian aggression.
