In the evening of December 24, Russia struck the port infrastructure of Odesa and Odesa region.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine spoke about the consequences of these strikes.
According to the investigation, on the evening of December 24, 2023, Russia carried out a mass drone attack on the objects of civil and port infrastructure in Odessa and the region.
As a result of the Russian attack, the technical premises of the port infrastructure of Odesa were damaged. Also, in Rozdilnya district of Odesa region, defunct administrative and warehouse buildings were damaged by debris.
A fire broke out and was promptly extinguished.
The survey is ongoing, a complete list of destruction and damage is being established.
Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, additionally reported that 17 Russian attack drones and an X-31P missile were shot down over Odesa at night. He specified that the damage to the technical premises of the Odesa port infrastructure, as well as the damage to the non-working administrative building and the warehouse of the preserved object, were caused by the fragments of the Shahed.
Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation was started in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
On the night of December 24, Russia attacked Ukraine, launching 31 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the areas of Cape Chauda and Balaklava (occupied Crimea) and two missiles.
The forces and means of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 28 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs in Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kirovohrad and Khmelnytskyi regions. Explosions were heard in Odesa at night.
During the air attack, the enemy also used the Kh-59 guided air missile in the direction of Zaporіzhzhіа and the Kh-31P anti-radar missile from the Black Sea. Both were destroyed.
