Night strike in Khmelnytskyi region: 30 injured, hundreds of houses damaged

As a result of the drone strike in the Khmelnytskyi region, residential infrastructure was significantly damaged.

The number of people injured as a result of the Russian air attack on the Khmelnytsky region on the night of May 12-13 has increased to 30 people. The chairman of Khmelnytskyi Oleksandr Simchyshyn reported this on May 13: “We now have 11 wounded. One person is hospitalized, but his life is not in danger. The degree of injury of others is glass cuts, damage from blows, when, for example, the ceiling, doors, etc. fell. Ten people will be treated on an outpatient basis. This number can increase, because every half an hour to an hour people turn to the trauma center of our city hospital.”

As for the damaged infrastructural objects of the city, we are talking about hundreds of objects. Only about 30 educational institutions – vocational technical institutes, kindergartens, and schools were damaged. There is also a large number of damaged cultural institutions, administrative buildings, commercial and industrial facilities. Simchyshyn added that the residential infrastructure was significantly affected. According to him, it is about hundreds of houses.

“These are multi-story residential buildings and private residential buildings. They are mainly roofs, ceilings, windows, doors,” explained the city chairman. As a result of the explosion in Khmelnytskyi, educational institutions, medical institutions, administrative buildings and industrial facilities were also damaged. The Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration announced the arrival of the critical infrastructure at approximately 7:30 a.m. “There were hits on a critical infrastructure object. It is located outside the borders of populated areas. There was no direct threat to the population or to residential or industrial buildings.

“A huge number of damaged apartment buildings, here we are talking about hundreds. And individually, there are also hundreds of individual private houses. These are mostly windows, roofs, doors. There are damaged gables. The degree of damage is extremely large. We have been working since the morning, eliminating the consequences as much as possible. It will not be possible to do everything today, we will have to work both tomorrow and Monday,” the official said.

On the night of May 13, explosions were heard in some regions of Ukraine. In particular, there was a threat of an attack by kamikaze drones in Lviv, said the head of the regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

In the morning, the Kyiv City Military Administration informed that as a result of the night attack by Russian drones, there was no destruction or casualties, all UAVs were shot down.
