Nine houses were damaged as a result of the Russian missile strike on Romny, Sumy region

On the evening of December 18, the city of Romny in the Sumy region was hit by a Russian missile strike. Nine residential buildings were damaged as a result of the attack, the regional military administration reported on the night of December 19.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

“A headquarters was quickly deployed on the territory of the Romny community to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack. Residents of damaged homes were offered temporary accommodation in local hostels. Work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the attack,” the post states.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – strike UAVs, missiles, guided aerial bombs and MLRS.

The Russian leadership denies that the Russian army, during a full-scale war, carries out targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are targeted in nature.
