Number of injured in Zaporizhzhia after Russian airstrikes rises to 18, including two children

On July 23, Russian troops carried out airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia in the afternoon, injuring 18 people, including two children. People were being searched for under the rubble of a high-rise building in the city, and emergency services are working at the sites of the hits. The injured are being provided with necessary medical assistance, the number of injured is still being determined.

The attack hit two addresses in the regional center at once. At one address, the medical center building and cars parked nearby were damaged, at the other – a five-story residential building. Emergency workers surveyed the areas to identify the injured and provide them with assistance.

According to preliminary data, the Russians dropped several guided bombs on residential areas of Zaporizhzhia at the end of the working day, when there were most people on the streets and in the yards.

Initially, there were fewer injuries, but during the day the data was revised and eventually increased to 18 victims. The regional authorities emphasize that the Russians are deliberately hitting residential areas at a time when most civilians are there.

Rescuers continue to check the rubble at the site of the destroyed high-rise building to make sure that there are no more people who need help. Medics are providing assistance to the victims on the spot and in the city’s hospitals. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service managed to provide support to 20 people, including five children.
