Odesa region hit by massive Russian attack: hospital, school, shopping mall, and homes damaged

Overnight on September 24, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. A hospital, a school, residential buildings, a shopping mall, warehouses, and other facilities were struck. Two people were injured.

In Odesa, a 10-story non-residential building was damaged and caught fire, and the roof of a seven-story city hospital building was also damaged.

Windows were blown out at an educational institution and four residential buildings, and three cars were damaged. A shopping mall—previously targeted in an earlier attack—was hit again; a large-scale fire broke out there but has since been extinguished by emergency crews.

At another location, a two-story private house caught fire. Preliminary reports indicate two people were injured there.

In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, windows were blown out in three private homes. Food warehouses and other civilian facilities were also damaged.

Rescue operations were hampered by repeated air raid alerts. Emergency services are working at the sites, and medical assistance is being provided to the injured.

Russian forces targeted the region with approximately fifteen aerial weapons. The impact of the strikes was recorded in several settlements across the region.

According to emergency responders, a residential building—specifically the attic floor of a five-story building—was damaged at one location. A fire broke out following the strike but was promptly extinguished. At other locations, another residential building and a non-residential structure were damaged. A truck was also destroyed in the attack.

According to preliminary data, three people, including one child, were injured in the strikes.
