Russian troops attacked the Odesa region twice during the night of August 16 with strike drones, targeting the port and grain infrastructure in the south of the region, Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, said on Wednesday.

“Russian terrorists attacked Odesa region twice this night with attack drones. The main target is the port and grain infrastructure in the south of the region. As a result of hostile strikes on one of the Danube ports, warehouses and grain storage facilities were damaged,” Kiper wrote.

He noted that the fires that had arisen were quickly extinguished by the employees of the State Emergency Service.

“I am grateful to everyone who, listening to the warnings about the danger, went down to shelters and stayed in safe places tonight. As you can see, this is very important, because, fortunately, there are no dead or injured,” said the head of the regional military administration.

At night, explosions rang out in Izmail and Reni, Odesa region. The Russians launched two waves of Shaheds.

Before that, the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces reported that this night the Russian occupiers launched a second group of attack UAVs over Ukraine.

“Shahedy” enter the mouth of the Danube! They are moving along the same route as the previous ones,” the military informed.

Local Telegram channels reported about the fire in Reni, but there is no official information yet.
