On the night of October 2, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Ukrzaliznytsia depot in Odesa. As a result of the attack, the train driver received a shrapnel wound and is currently receiving necessary medical care.
This was reported by the press service of the Odesa City Council.
According to the State Emergency Service, the roof and windows of one of the private residential buildings were also damaged. Unfortunately, two people were injured as a result of the shelling – one of them in the depot and the other in the private sector.
The shelling led to power outages. By morning, energy workers were able to partially restore electricity to 11,300 consumers, but 46,600 customers still remain without power. Repair work is ongoing.
Units of the State Emergency Service are actively working to eliminate the consequences of the attack, and law enforcement officers are documenting the crimes of the Russian military against the civilian population of the Odesa region. This situation highlights the continuing threats to civilians in wartime and the need for an international response to such acts of aggression.
