During September 4, the Russians carried out 18 shelling of the border territories and settlements of the Sumy region. 119 explosions were recorded. The communities of Bilopolska, Krasnopilska, Khotynska, Seredino-Budska, Druzhbivska, Sveska, Znob-Novgorodska, Esmanska, and Novoslobidska came under fire.
The message states:
Druzhbiv community: the enemy fired artillery (20 explosions), as a result of which 1 civilian was injured, 12 private houses, 5 garages, a freight car at the railway station, contact networks of railway tracks were damaged.
Svesk community: mortar shelling was carried out (2 explosions).
Seredino-Budsk community: the Russians fired mortars (13 explosions), as a result of which a private house and two apartments in an apartment building were damaged. Artillery shelling (RSZV) (35 explosions) was also carried out. As a result, an administrative building, 2 cars, a railway track were damaged, and 1 civilian was injured.
Esman community: mortar shelling (7 explosions) was recorded, as a result of which the warehouse of an agricultural enterprise was damaged.
Znob-Novgorod community: 6 mines were dropped by the enemy on the territory of the community. There was also artillery shelling (9 explosions).
Novoslobodsk community: artillery bombardment (1 explosion).
Krasnopil community: there was shelling from mortars (6 explosions).
Khotyn community: mortar shelling was carried out (8 explosions).
Bilopol community: 10 explosions from mortars and tank shelling (2 explosions) were recorded. As a result of the tank shelling, the power line was damaged.”
On the night of July 20, 2023, an attack by two UAVs of the “Shahed” type by Russian troops caused significant destruction to the buildings of an after-school sanatorium-type institution in the city of Sumy.
This led to their igniting and, as a result, to atmospheric air pollution with the subsequent calculation of losses in the amount of almost 246 thousand hryvnias, which the Inspectorate informed about earlier.
After inspection by specialists of the Inspection of the place of the event, it was also recorded that the plot of land with an area of 4,461 m2 was clogged with waste from the destruction.
The amount of damage caused to land and soil as a result of armed aggression amounted to more than UAH 262 million. Documents related to the calculation of losses will be sent by the Inspectorate to law enforcement agencies to include them in the materials of the pre-trial investigation on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war. And in the future, they should become the basis for charging the aggressor country with all the damage caused to the environment of Ukraine, reports the State Inspectorate in the Sumy region.
Harvesting of early grain and industrial crops has been completed in Sumy Region. As of August 31, 209.7 thousand hectares of early grain and leguminous crops were threshed in the region, which is 99.7% of the total area before harvesting.
Oleksandr Maslak, director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported this, the press service of the Sumy Regional Military Administration reports.
“1 million 122 thousand tons of grain of the new crop were collected with an average yield of 53.5 tons/ha, (+2.9 tons/ha compared to the corresponding period last year),” Oleksandr Maslak said.
He noted that as a result of constant shelling by the Russian Federation and the impossibility of carrying out agricultural work, approximately 600 hectares of this group of crops remained unharvested.
The main crop among the early grain and leguminous crops is wheat, which was harvested from an area of 165,000 hectares, 944,000 tons of grain were threshed with an average yield of 57.2 t/ha, (+2.1 t/ha).
In addition, rapeseed harvesting was completed, 47.6 thousand ha were threshed, 168.2 thousand tons were threshed with an average yield of 35.3 t/ha (+1.2 t/ha).
Business subjects of the region are preparing for harvesting late crops (sunflower, soybeans, corn for grain).
