
On the morning of May 18, while following the Ukrainian Corridor to the entrance to the port of Chornomorsk, a civilian vessel under the Panamanian flag was hit. This was written by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
The vessel was damaged, a fire broke out, which the crew extinguished on its own. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Despite the attack, the vessel continued its journey.
As the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration clarified, the vessel was carrying 35 thousand tons of oil.
This is the third civilian vessel damaged as a result of today’s Russian attacks. During the night attack, it was also recorded that Russian UAVs hit two civilian vessels under the flags of Guinea-Bissau and the Marshall Islands, which were in the waiting area and were moving along the Ukrainian corridor to the ports of Greater Odesa. As a result of the hits, small fires broke out on both vessels, which were localized by the ship’s crew. Fortunately, there were no injuries among the crews. The vessels are underway and continued their movement to the ports. As noted in the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the vessels had a crew of Chinese citizens on board.
