On the morning of September 19, the Russians attacked Kherson, targeting a trolleybus: 2 wounded, 1 dead

On the morning of September 19, around 9:38 a.m., Russian artillery struck the Ship District of Kherson, targeting a trolleybus and a warehouse. Unfortunately, 49-year-old police sergeant Andrii Tarchynskyi died on the spot, two passengers of the trolleybus were injured.

As reported in the press services of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor General’s Office, due to the fact of a cynical attack on the city, law enforcement officers opened proceedings under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.”

Those guilty of this crime face life imprisonment. The Russians were attacked by a trolleybus traveling along route No. 9 when it was on Naftovykyv Street. The cars that were nearby at that time were also damaged. Two men, who were wounded during the shelling, were taken to the hospital in serious condition, the head of the Kherson city military administration, Roman Mrochko, said. Also, due to the enemy shelling of the city, a fire broke out in a warehouse – it caught fire on an area of about a thousand square meters, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said.

The communication department of the police of the Kherson region reported that the dead law enforcement officer is a 49-year-old veteran of the Muscovite-Ukrainian war, senior police sergeant Andriy Tarchynskyi.

The man was a peacekeeper during the Balkan wars, carried out missions in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014, he volunteered to join the special patrol police company “Kherson”.

Andriy Tarchynskyi took part in battles for the Donetsk region, went through the “Ilovai Cauldron”, where he was seriously wounded. Despite this, he got out of the enemy environment and saved his brothers.
