The situation in the Sumy region remains tense, as over the past week alone (August 11-17), the Russian army has carried out over 680 attacks with various types of weapons.

This was reported by the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleg Grigorov, following a meeting of the regional Defense Council.

“The situation is difficult, but controlled by the security and defense forces. Our defenders are systematically inflicting losses on the Russians and repelling their attacks,” the head of the region emphasized.

According to him, 45 civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed as a result of the shelling: residential buildings, private households, enterprises and energy facilities.

At the meeting of the Defense Council, a decision was also made to strengthen the protection of critically important facilities and continue the installation of anti-drone systems, in particular on highways and evacuation routes. Special attention was paid to the safety of gas stations.
