Overnight attack in Zaporizhzhia damages 30 apartment buildings and nine private homes

More than 50 properties were damaged in the Oleksandrivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia following a Russian attack on the night of September 21. Two apartment buildings sustained such severe damage that 38 apartments were deemed uninhabitable.

Damage was reported to 30 apartment buildings, nine private houses, a kindergarten, over ten non-residential buildings and premises, the “Intrade” shopping center, and an academic building of Zaporizhzhia National University.

Gas, electricity, and water supplies were cut off for some apartments in the two most heavily damaged apartment buildings.

Following the attack, 348 residents whose property was affected registered for assistance. More than 180 municipal and emergency service workers, along with up to 55 pieces of equipment, were deployed to address the aftermath.

Crews from “Zaporizhremservis” have already boarded up or repaired about a third of the damaged windows. Emergency repair work is ongoing.
