The temporarily occupied town of Oleshki is under a blockade organized by the Russians. People are suffering from a shortage of food, and the Russians are not solving the problem.
The Russians are not helping with the burial of the dead, or even allowing it to be done. Because of this, the bodies of the dead have been lying in the morgue and basement of the hospital for the fourth month. By the way, the hospital is almost not working – only the surgery is currently functioning.
The situation with providing the population with food also remains difficult.
Humanitarian aid is issued only to pensioners with a Russian passport and a Russian pension. For pensioners over 80, there is a relaxation – they are allowed to receive it if they have a Ukrainian pension. Humanitarian aid is not given to other people, including people with disabilities of all categories.
As of mid-April, Oleshki began delivering food to one store for the entire city once a week. People stand in queues for 5-6 hours. Only those who have the money, strength and health to get to the store and stand the line can buy food. The food is sold at inflated prices, and the supplier risks his life and health to deliver it to Oleshki.
From December to mid-April, the residents of Oleshki were unable to fill up or buy household gas cylinders. They were supposed to be delivered on April 15, but the car that was supposed to deliver them was attacked by a drone at the entrance to the city.
People say that the situation is saved by the fact that the vegetable growing season has begun. But the city still has a shortage of food.
Residents are collecting rain and dew and trying to stretch out leftover food. Evacuees say that it is rare to get food into the city. And all the roads are mined. When it is occasionally possible to drive through mined roads and Russian checkpoints to deliver flour and sausage, a queue of 400-500 people forms before dawn at the local hospital.
In occupied Skadovsk, Russians are looking for children who do not attend their schools
In occupied Skadovsk, the Russian administration has announced its intention to identify children who do not study in educational institutions under its control.
This is reported by occupation resources.
According to them, a working group meeting was held in the administration of the so-called “Skadovsk district” with the participation of representatives of the occupation “social services”, police and guardianship authorities. The main topic was the identification of minors who live in the community but do not attend school.
The Russians say that they plan to “improve the accounting system” of such children and return them to school. This concerns educational institutions that operate under Russian programs.
They also emphasize in their messages the “duty” of parents to ensure their children’s education and threaten administrative liability for refusal.
In fact, this is about further pressure on families in the occupation. It is known that a significant part of parents in the temporarily occupied territories refuse to send their children to schools with Russian programs and propaganda content.
The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly emphasized that forcing them to study according to the standards of the aggressor state is a violation of children’s rights and part of the policy of Russification in the occupied territories.
