Private sector in Zaporizhzhia hit by Russian missile “Thunder”

During the air attack that occurred on June 9 at around 10:30-11:00, the Russians launched a missile called “Thunder” on Zaporizhzhia.

This was stated by the head of the regional military administration Ivan Fedorov.

He noted that at first there was information that the Russians hit the city with a guided aerial bomb, but after detailed investigative actions it became known that it was an aerial missile.

“The missile fell in the middle of the courtyards of private houses, literally 100 meters from multi-storey buildings. Preliminary information is that it was a missile “Thunder”, which was launched from an airplane,” he said.

As a result of the attack, at least 7 houses were destroyed, which cannot be restored and their owners will receive certificates under the E-recovery program.

“We will try to do this within 1 month,” Fedorov added.

In addition, about ten houses were damaged. There, utilities are closing windows and roofs, and the owners will receive money or building materials.

People who currently have nowhere to live can receive compensation for renting housing – 10 thousand hryvnias or a place in a dormitory.

About the “Thunder” missile, it is known that it is an “aviation guided missile”, equipped with inertial and satellite guidance systems, which allows the missile to be used against stationary fixed targets, according to previously loaded coordinates.

The missile, weighing 594 kg (high-explosive fragmentation warhead 315 kg), is equipped with a rocket engine and is capable of covering a distance of up to 120 km. The missile has wings that unfold in the air, ensuring range and accuracy.

Two women were injured in the strike – a 70-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction, and a 73-year-old woman suffered multiple fractures and mine-explosive injuries, and is in hospital in serious condition.
