Puma, Intertop and Toyota logistics warehouses destroyed in Russian attack. Companies lose significant amount of goods
As a result of a massive ballistic attack on Kyiv and the region on the night of August 5, the Russians destroyed Puma, Intertop and Toyota logistics warehouses. There were no casualties.
According to Puma, their logistics complex was destroyed, so in the coming weeks and months, Ukraine may experience a shortage of certain brand products.
According to Intertop, on the night of August 5, the main logistics warehouse was completely destroyed, a significant part of the goods and equipment was lost. No employees were injured. This facility was one of the key ones for the company, it has been operating since 2009, tens of thousands of orders were sent from there every day.
As a result of the shelling, Toyota lost its warehouse of spare parts and related goods, so delays in the supply of certain spare parts, accessories, lubricants and other goods are possible.
Marketplace Rozetka loses largest distribution center
Three Russian ballistic missiles completely destroyed Rozetka’s main distribution complex in Brovary. No employees were injured in the strike, but the building is beyond repair.
The complex opened in early 2017. It was the company’s largest and most automated logistics facility. More than 100,000 orders passed through it daily.
The company continues to accept orders and is restructuring its logistics processes.
Nova Poshta sorting center destroyed
A Russian strike in Kyiv destroyed Nova Poshta’s sorting center. Three people died: two drivers of a partner carrier and an employee of a contractor.
Eight more people were injured. The company supports the families of the deceased and provides assistance to the injured.
Branch No. 2 in the Obolonskyi district of the capital was also damaged during the attack. Nova Poshta said it would compensate customers for the declared value of parcels that were destroyed or damaged.
The company said Russian forces had used cluster munitions.
Epicenter loses warehouses and tile production
Russian missiles simultaneously hit two key logistics complexes of the Epicenter group.
In Kyiv, the company’s logistics center on Viskozna Street burned down completely. In the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka, direct hits destroyed two large warehouse complexes.
Another missile hit the production site of Epicentr Ceramic Corporation, one of the largest ceramic tile manufacturers in Ukraine. The explosion destroyed all production furnaces, making further work at the company impossible.
A young employee of Epicenter died in Kalynivka. Three more employees were injured and taken to hospital. 20 private cars of employees burned down near the complex.
The company decided to temporarily transfer production to two of its enterprises abroad. In parallel, Epicenter is preparing to launch production at another plant in Ukraine.
The full restoration of the destroyed facilities may take at least a year and a half, and most likely about two years. The final amount of damage is still being calculated.
On the night of August 5, during a massive shelling, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 143 air attack vehicles, of which 24 were ballistic missiles. Ukrainian air defense forces did not shoot down the ballistics. In total, the Russians killed 17 people.
In Kyiv, at least 1 person was killed and 24 injured as a result of the ballistic strike. A person died in the Obolonskyі district, and in the Holosiivskyi district, a minor ammonia leak occurred on the territory of an industrial enterprise – the attack damaged a system containing about 300 liters of the substance.
Among the injured is an ambulance driver, and 4 injured are in serious condition.
And in the Kyiv region, 14 people died as a result of the attack. The largest number of deaths was in the Brovary district – 9 people died there, 8 of whom were killed by Russia at the Kvitneva station while they were waiting for a train.
