Representatives of the Russian Federation continue to oppress the civilian residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

Zaporіzhzhіа region

In Melitopol, residential areas are combed by FSB officers, and women are taken to the basement, blackmailed by their children

After blowing up the Chongar bridges and activating the Ukrainian army on the Zaporozhye front in Melitopol, the Russians intensified their terror. Most of the complaints are directed at those local residents who have Ukrainian passports.

It has already come to the point that, if during the check, “Diya” is found in a person’s phone, they can be taken to the commandant’s office and to the basement.

Every holder of a Ukrainian passport is considered by the Russians as a potential saboteur.

After the explosions in the yards of the 27th quarter and on the street. People in civilian clothes walked around the courtyards of Heroes of Ukraine. At first, such questions were asked by neutral people: how to get there, where is such and such a house. And then it went: “where do the patriots live here?” Although they are not in uniform, it is immediately clear from the correction and accent that they are from Russian structures, – says the resident of Melitopol.

A similar situation with inspections in the villages of the Melitopol district. It is noteworthy that the hunt for “correctors” was organized not only among men. Women are also captured.

One resident spent 11 days in captivity. After the release, the woman and her children left the occupation.

They surrounded my house. When I asked: “on what basis?”, the accusations came: “We have information that you surrender our positions.” They put a hood on her head and took her to the city on an armored personnel carrier, – says the captive.

When I was there, I could hear the boy being tortured through the wall. They beat with clubs when they hit the wall, it felt like they were hitting with shovel handles. And then something made a noise, and he began to shout in a voice that was not his own. I felt sick and started knocking on the door. I was transferred to another cell where there were 3 other guys. I remember one from Atmanai, another from the Kherson region. They said that they had no hope of staying alive. I was held for 11 days while their phones were checked.

They only abused morally. They fed 1 time for lunch – they gave 2 spoons of porridge. On the 11th day, 2 in balaclavas entered the cell. They began to threaten that the children would be sent to a shelter, and I would be sent to a pre-trial detention center for a year, or I would go under Article 275. Russian Federation (treason). As a choice, they offered to take some 500 photos and let them go home, warning that they would come. I agreed that they would not take me away immediately. When she came home, she and her children immediately began to hide in Melitopol. It’s easier to get lost there, and then she left. I understood, they simply had nothing to show me, – says the resident of the Melitopol district.

To date, the Russians continue to hold 117 people in captivity. And these are only official statistics.

Through torture, the Russians extract confessions from people, demand that they take the blame, in order to improve their crime detection statistics. As a result, FSB officers write texts to prisoners and they read them on camera during the filming of another film to intimidate the population.

Since May 6, journalist Iryna Levchenko and her husband Oleksandr have not been able to contact their relatives. Both are already retired. In recent years, Iryna has not been engaged in journalism. Witnesses claim that they saw Irina on the street on May 6, surrounded by Russian soldiers. It is not known where the Levchenko family is being held and what they are accused of.
