In Kharkiv, search and rescue operations were completed at the site of a five-story building destroyed by Russian rocket fire on January 23.
This was announced by the State Emergency Service on Wednesday, January 24.
It is noted that the rescuers removed the bodies of two more people and two dogs from under the rubble. The total number of victims as a result of yesterday’s Russian shelling of the city is 10 people.
The State Emergency Service added that engineering equipment removed 160 tons of construction debris within two days.
On January 23, Russia attacked Kharkiv three times. As a result of the morning strikes, residential buildings were hit, and the entrance to a multi-story building was completely destroyed. It is known about 60 wounded, including six children, among the dead – an eight-year-old girl and her mother.
During the evening attack, nine residents of the city were injured.
In total, the Russian Federation launched more than 40 missiles of various types at Ukraine the day before, and managed to shoot down half of them. As a result of the attack, about 18 people died, another 130 were injured, President Volodymyr Zelenskyі reported.
