Rivne region under heavy shelling at night: Local authorities report consequences of Russian attack

On the night of June 9, Russian troops launched a combined attack on the Rivne region. At least one person was injured as a result of rocket and drone attacks.

This was reported by the head of the Rivne regional military administration, Oleksandr Koval.

“A very difficult night for the Rivne region. Our region was subjected to a powerful enemy air strike,” he stated.

The head of the Rivne region’s military administration provided preliminary information, according to which one civilian was injured.

“Immense gratitude for the professionalism of our air defense forces, which destroyed a large number of Russian targets,” he added.

Oleksandr Koval assured that representatives of the Defense Forces and other services are working at the scene.

“More information about the consequences of the night attack will follow. Have a peaceful day everyone,” the head of the Rivne regional military administration concluded.

In the Rivne region, airstrikes were declared twice last night. First, the region was massively attacked by Russian “shaheeds”. And then — from 02:24 to 05:47 — the Rivne region was subjected to a combined strike by missiles and drones. For this region, this is one of the largest attacks by the Russians since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
