Rocket strike on ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Public Joint Stock Company

On the night of August 16, Russian troops launched a rocket strike on ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Public Joint Stock Company. Two people were killed and 13 more employees of the company and contractors were injured.

Initially, the company reported one death. As of 10:16, the body of another person was found during search operations. Thus, the number of deaths has increased to two.

After the strike, the company implemented an emergency response plan. Firefighters, rescuers, doctors and occupational health specialists are working at the site. The injured are receiving necessary medical care in city hospitals.

The attack damaged the main production facilities of energy and blast furnace production. Production processes at the plant have been partially stopped.

The company’s specialists are assessing the extent of the damage, as well as the possibilities and timing of the restoration of work.

The company emphasized that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is a civilian facility in the mining and metallurgical industry.

In 2022, the company was already hit by a missile strike. Then the long-rolling shop was destroyed and one of the plant’s employees was killed.
