Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones: there is destruction, casualties

On the night of May 7, Kyiv was under attack by ballistic missiles, and in the morning – by Russian strike drones.

The first air alert in the capital was declared at 1 am due to the threat of ballistics. Several explosions were heard in the city.

“Thanks to the work of air defense, the enemy ballistic target was successfully hit,” the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, falling debris caused a fire in a non-residential building in the Solomyanskyі district. According to the chairman, Vitaliy Klitschko, warehouses with an area of ​​​​about 300 square meters caught fire.

One person was injured.

In the morning, at about four o’clock, an air alert was declared due to the threat of strike drones, which were recorded in different parts of the city.

In total, 28 UAVs were recorded in the airspace of the capital. “According to operational information, 11 Russian UAVs were confirmed to have been shot down. 10 left the airspace, three were lost in location,” the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out as a result of debris falling on a five-story residential building. Two residents of the building died.

In the Svyatoshynskyi district, debris fell on a 10-story residential building. Apartments on floors 6-9 were on fire. Three children were hospitalized with burns.

In the Dnipro district, debris falling on a residential building caused partial destruction of the ceiling on the 29th and 30th floors. No people were injured.

In total, according to Chairman Klitschko, eight people were injured in the Russian attack overnight. Four were hospitalized, the others were provided with assistance on the spot.
