Russia attacked two hospitals in Sumy region

Emergency services are working on the scene. Evacuation measures are being taken for patients and hospital staff, the Sumy regional military administration reports.

“On the night of March 19, Russian troops struck another blow to the civilian infrastructure of the Sumy region. The Russians attacked two hospitals. At about 1 a.m., a Russian drone fell on the roof of the Krasnopil hospital. According to preliminary information, no people were injured,” the post says.

On the evening of March 18, a Russian drone hit the roof of the regional clinical hospital. Later, information was received about the fall of drone debris in Krasnopil. The consequences of the attack and destruction are being clarified.

Rescuers eliminated the consequences of the Russian attack on the medical facility, in particular, fire centers were detected.

147 hospital patients were evacuated, nine of whom were citizens with limited mobility.

“Also, the blast wave damaged the premises of a children’s medical institution. Fortunately, no one was injured,” the State Emergency Service added.

On the night of March 18, the Russians attacked two medical institutions at once: in Sumy and the region. In the regional center, a drone hit the technical floor of the hospital, no one was injured.

“The second hospital suffered significant damage – a fire broke out there as a result of the attack. Medical workers and patients were in shelters, later the police and rescuers evacuated 60 people from the medical institution,” the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported.

In Sumy region, an evacuation was announced in the border areas. In addition, an evacuation plan for the city of Sumy has been prepared. It will be implemented only in the event of an official announcement.
