Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia on New Year’s Eve: five people were injured, including a child

On New Year’s Eve, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia, injuring five people, including a 15-year-old boy. According to information, two women aged 44 and 59, as well as two men aged 56 and 76, were injured. One of the victims was hospitalized for medical care.

The shock wave damaged a multi-storey residential building and several cars. After the attack, psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided support to seven people, three of whom were children.

This attack occurred against the background of other shelling: on December 30, Russian occupation troops struck Zaporizhzhia, as a result of which an industrial infrastructure facility was also damaged, which led to a fire.

The attacks on Zaporizhzhia are part of a broader Russian military aggression against Ukraine that has been going on for more than a year. Coming as many people are celebrating the New Year, such attacks underscore the horrific toll the conflict has taken on civilians. Psychological support for those affected, especially children, is becoming an important aspect of providing assistance to victims of war.
