Russia begins attacking Kyiv’s water infrastructure – Bortnytsia aeration station damaged

During the strike on Ukraine on May 24, Russian troops attacked the Bortnytsia aeration station (BSA). This is a key wastewater treatment facility in Kyiv and part of the region. A terrorist attack against the station could lead to serious environmental and man-made consequences.

Journalist Andriy Tsaplienko reported on the Russian attack on the Bortnytsia aeration station, and monitoring channels also confirmed the information. It is noted that the BSA is one of the most important elements of Kyiv’s wastewater system.

Monitoring channels note that several missiles hit the Bortnytsia station at once. That is, the attack was targeted, and the Russians began a campaign of terrorist attacks against water supply facilities.

“Damage or destruction of this facility could have catastrophic consequences for both residents of the capital and the environment, as it is the only large wastewater treatment plant for the capital and part of the settlements of the Kyiv region. Almost all of the city’s sewage flows through it,” one of the channels said in a report.
