In Ukraine, as of the beginning of 2023, the occupiers have completely destroyed 173 health care facilities (more than 90% of them are not considered to be restored, only to be rebuilt). A total of 1,218 medical facilities were damaged by Russian war criminals, of which 540 were hospitals.
Territorially, the most affected medical facilities – from rural dispensaries to city hospitals – are located in areas where the front line was or is located nearby. This is the south and east of the Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, Luhansk region, Mykolaiv region, Kherson region. This information was shared by Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.
He said that now the estimated cost of restoring the destroyed medical infrastructure of the country is 1 billion dollars. If the troops of the Russian Federation continue their crimes, it will obviously grow even more.
In addition, an up-to-date damage assessment can only be carried out on those objects to which experts have access. In Mariupol, for example, only an approximate assessment was made based on available photos and videos from the occupied city.
The amount of indirect losses is also huge (not only recovery until February 24, 2022, but also lost investments, potentials that the hospital could generate). This is tens of billions of dollars, experts of the World Bank and the World Health Organization believe.
“In particular, the last figure they presented at the end of September 2022 amounted to 26 billion dollars. During these three months, even more destruction occurred in the medical infrastructure, as well as in the energy sector,” Lyashko emphasized.
He explained that due to the lack of stable electricity, generators had to be purchased for doctors, and these are additional costs of health care facilities for fuel and the work of specialists who maintain this equipment. “Subsequently, this will lead to even greater numbers, which will be in the final report,” said the head of the Ministry of Health.
He thanked all medical workers who continue to save people in this difficult time.
– On the first floor of the Cairo psycho-neurological boarding house in the occupied part of the Kherson region, the invaders placed the wounded soldiers of the aggressor country. They moved the civilians to other floors to cover themselves with civilians from possible “cotton”.
– The Center of National Resistance reported that in Skadovsk, Kherson Oblast, temporarily captured by the Russian Armed Forces, the occupiers looted absolutely all the equipment of the central city hospital. It is not known where exactly the property was taken.
The publication NPR published satellite images of the Kakhovskaya HPP dam, which show how quickly the water is flowing out.
The occupiers deliberately opened the floodgates to leave Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions without water. Also, a low water level threatens a disaster at the ZNPP.
The Russian invaders are deliberately and purposefully draining the Kakhov reservoir, committing ecocide.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk writes about this.
“Environmental war. The occupiers are draining the Kakhov reservoir. A threat to the environment, water supply and agriculture of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblast,” the message reads.
Vereshchuk emphasizes that the invaders are consciously and purposefully committing ecocide in the region. The Russians cannot keep the captured territories, therefore, they want to leave behind them a scorched earth, unfit for life.
Earlier, Ukrhydroenergo experts stated that the large amount of water discharged through the Kakhovskaya HPP is not related to its damage, but to the deliberate actions of the Russian invaders. In particular, the occupiers opened the locks of the station, fearing the forcing of the Dnieper by Ukrainian troops.
We will remind you that at the beginning of February, it was written that due to the actions of the occupiers, the water level in the Kakhovsky Reservoir dropped by 1.4 m.
It was also reported that due to the shelling of the Kakhovskaya HPP dam in the Dnieper, fish died en masse.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published information on the looting of Russians in the occupied Kherson region.
This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
The message states: “In Novaya Kakhovka, a temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, between February 7 and 9, numerous cases of looting by the Russian invaders were observed. Newly arrived servicemen of the Russian occupation forces are actively loading looted property into military trucks.”
Looting intensified in the occupied territory of the Kherson region – the General Staff
In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, the Rashists intensified looting. This was reported in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 18:00 on February 11.
“In Novaya Kakhovka, the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, in the period from February 7 to 9, numerous cases of looting by Russian invaders were observed,” the report said.
It is noted that newly arrived servicemen of the Russian occupation forces are actively loading looted property into military trucks.
Looting is flourishing in occupied Severodonetsk, which is facilitated by the occupation authorities.
Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, together with police investigators and experts, conducted an exhumation and examination of the bodies of two residents of Velika Oleksandrivka, Kherson Region, as part of the criminal proceedings. They died at the hands of the occupiers.
According to the investigation, during the occupation of the settlement, the Russian military shot two men – the owner of the house and his neighbor – in the yard of the house. Their bodies with signs of violent death were discovered by fellow villagers and buried in the local cemetery.
During the exhumation and inspection of the bodies, it was previously established that one had a bullet wound in the head, the other in the neck.
During the inspection of the scene, the law enforcement officers seized casings from firearms and other evidence.
In the territory of the Kherson region occupied by Russian servicemen, the invaders are forcing local residents to leave.
This was reported by the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, on February 11.
“Information received in recent days from the regions of the Kherson region occupied by Russian barbarians indicates mass torture, looting and persecution of Ukrainian citizens.
The most common type of atrocities committed by Russian barbarians is the arrest and imprisonment of citizens in the “basement”, where they are required to declare their alleged desire to obtain Russian citizenship and obtain a Russian passport.
Those who refuse are subjected to physical torture and forced to hand over their personal property – house, car, etc. – to the Russian occupiers, after which the recalcitrant are expelled from the occupied zone.
So, the other day in the village of Novooleksiivka, Heniche district, Russian barbarians conducted repeated raids to identify and occupy houses, whose owners were forced to evacuate earlier, by Russian servicemen-bandits.
At the same time, the houses of citizens known for their loyalty to the Ukrainian state are subject to such “occupation”.
Thus, the Russian occupiers in Novooleksiivka broke down the door and occupied the house of the family of Edem and Gulnara Bekirov: Edem is a former prisoner of the Kremlin, Gulnara is a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. The Bekir family was previously evacuated from occupied Novooleksiivka,” Chubarov said.
In Brylivka and Novokiivka of the temporarily occupied Kherson Oblast, the occupying authorities are taking actions to take away housing from the local population.
Russian servicemen are also searching houses. Local residents are checked for registration and home ownership documents. Abandoned houses are ransacked and notices are posted that the premises have become the property of the so-called occupying “local administration”.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that the situation with shelling of the Kherson region remains difficult. The suburbs and Kherson itself suffered from enemy artillery fire. More than 30 other settlements were also shelled, including Havrylivka, Mylové, Chervyn Mayak, Novoberyslav, Beryslav, Burgunka, Prydniprovske and Stanislav in the Kherson region.
The enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Zimivnyk.
