Russia destroyed and damaged 2,235 medical facilities during the full-scale war

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has damaged and destroyed 2,235 medical facilities in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Health reports this: “As of mid-December 2024, the Russian Federation has damaged 1,938 and completely destroyed another 297 medical facilities. The greatest losses were suffered by hospitals in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.”

As noted by the Ministry of Health, it is currently impossible to obtain comprehensive information on the extent of destruction of medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. In addition, since the beginning of the war, Russia has damaged 235 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 264 and captured 125 emergency medical vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Health, despite the long-term full-scale war, it was possible to fully restore 576 and partially restore 372 facilities of Ukrainian medical institutions.

These are medical institutions in the deoccupied territories, as well as those that suffered minor damage: broken windows, destruction of the roof, damage to the facade, etc.

The largest number of facilities was restored in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.
