Russia drones hit railways in three regions: where there is a threat of repeated attacks

On the night of December 31 to January 1, the Russian army attacked the railway infrastructure of three Ukrainian cities. Explosions were heard in Volyn, Sumy and Odessa regions.

This was reported by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba. According to him, there were several hits on one railway facility in Volyn region.

According to him, the buildings of the locomotive depot in Kovel were damaged, about seven hits by Russian drones were recorded on the territory.

Also, according to the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Russian army struck the station in Konotop in Sumy region, as a result of the attack, freight cars were damaged.

In addition, the Russians carried out attacks with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones on the logistics infrastructure of the Odessa region, where, according to him, there is still a threat of repeated attacks, which complicates the restoration work.

“Repair teams of Ukrzaliznytsia are eliminating the consequences. The attack did not affect the movement of trains,” the official summarizes.

During the night from December 31 to January 1, the Russians attacked Volyn. As stated by the governor of Volyn, Ivan Rudnytsky, several dozen Russian drones were aimed at critical infrastructure facilities. Some of the air targets were shot down by anti-aircraft guns.
