Russia hits shopping mall in Kharkiv with drone

On December 18, the Russian army hit the Kyivsky district of Kharkiv with a drone. This was reported by the chairman Igor Terekhov.

There were no victims or injuries.

The Russians probably used a Molniya drone, the mayor said.

The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Synegubov, later clarified that the Russian UAV hit the building of a shopping and entertainment center.

The speaker of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, Dmitry Chubenko, informed that the shopping and entertainment center was not working at the time of arrival, the building was empty. Law enforcement officers recorded the destruction of the roof.

Chubenko confirmed that the Russians used a Molniya-1 aircraft-type drone, which the Russian Federation has been actively launching over border areas since May. They are made of Chinese parts, aluminum tubes, plywood and polystyrene, the Focus publication wrote. The flight range of such UAVs is approximately 40 km, they can carry a warhead weighing approximately 3 kg.

The Kharkiv region borders Russia, and the second most populous city of Ukraine – Kharkiv – is located just 40 km from the border with the Russian Federation. The Russians attack the region daily with various types of weapons, including missiles, drones and aerial bombs.
