Russia intensifies propaganda in schools in occupied Zaporizhzhia

The Russians continue to strengthen their ideological influence on the education system in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Russian Ministry of Education has approved a draft of the so-called “unified standard of historical education”, which should become the basis for the dissemination of Russian narratives among children and youth in the occupied territories.

The new project envisages the creation of a single system that will unite school education, museums, cultural institutions and digital platforms. To this end, the Russian authorities plan to launch a separate information resource by 2027, through which they will promote the “official version” of the history of the Russian Federation.

The Russians are paying special attention to the “new regions”, in particular the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. Representatives of the occupation administration are already calling the new program “strategically important” for the region.
