On Thursday, December 29, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine. Air defense systems have been activated in a number of regions of the country.
Sumy region
The head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, reported that the air defense forces of the Pivnich operational command shot down two enemy missiles in the sky over Sumy Oblast.
Kyiv region
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defense systems had been activated in the region. Fragments of an enemy rocket damaged two private houses and a car in Darnytsia district of the capital. A private enterprise in Holosiivskyi district and a children’s playground in Pecherskyi district were also damaged.
In turn, the chairman of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko warned that there may be power outages in the capital. The chairman called on the citizens of Kyiv to charge all their devices and stock up on water.
According to preliminary information, two people were injured in Darnytsia district. They were given medical assistance.
An enemy missile hit the private sector in the village of Bortnychi in the Kyiv region. Rescuers are sorting through the debris. Kyiv President Vitaliy Klitschko clarified that three people were injured in Kyiv, including a 14-year-old child. The rocket hit the private sector in the Darnytskyi district.
Kharkiv region
Chairman of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov reported on a series of explosions in Kharkiv. According to preliminary information, there were “arrivals” in the Slobid district. Information about the victims is being clarified.
Lviv region
The chairman of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, reported the sounds of explosions in the city. In turn, the head of the Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, noted that the Air Defense Forces operates in the Lviv Region.
Later, the mayor reported that 99% of Lviv was without electricity. Critical infrastructure facilities have switched to diesel generators.
Kozytsky noted that part of the rockets that were fired in the direction of the Lviv region were shot down.
Mykolaiv region
Vitaly Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, reported that air defense forces had shot down 3 missiles over the sea.
Odesa region
The deputy head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, reported that fragments of an enemy missile fell on a residential building in the village of Stepove, Odesa Region. The consequences are clarified.
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Maksym Marchenko, reported that the air defense forces shot down 21 enemy missiles in the region. As a result of the shelling, there is damage to the energy infrastructure.
Zhytomyr region
The head of the regional military administration, Vitaly Bunechko, reported on the work of the Air Defense Forces in the region.
Ivano-Frankivsk region
In one of the villages in the Frankiv region, a Russian rocket hit a residential building. Fortunately, it did not explode.

The advisor of the President’s Office, Oleksiy Arestovych, said that on December 29, the Russian occupiers will launch at least 100 missiles over Ukraine in several waves.
On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, the enemy shelled the areas of more than 25 settlements.
