Russia launches massive ballistic missile strike on Kyiv: people killed, houses and warehouses on fire

On the night of August 1, Russia launched a massive ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, damage to residential buildings was recorded in several districts of the capital, fires broke out, and there were also deaths and injuries.

According to the report, rescue services reported that as of the morning of August 1, they had managed to rescue 105 people from buildings damaged as a result of the night attack on Kyiv.

The effects of the shelling were recorded in Solomiansky, Darnytsky, Holosiivsky, Shevchenkivsky, Pechersky and Dniprovsky districts. After the strikes, power went out in part of the city.

In Solomiansky district, a fire broke out in a six-story non-residential building, cars were burning in the parking lot, and as a result of falling rocket fragments, people were trapped in a five-story building.

In the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, debris fell on non-residential buildings, and in Darnytskyi warehouses were also set alight.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, residents were trapped due to the partial destruction of the first and second floors of a residential building, and a fire broke out at a car wash, in a non-residential building, and in the territory of a film studio – all fires were later extinguished.

In the Pecherskyi district, four private houses and outbuildings were damaged, and in the Dniprovskyi district, a shop was damaged.

As of this morning, 9 people were killed and 28 injured in the attack, including four children. All the wounded were hospitalized in city hospitals. Rescuers continue emergency and rescue operations at the sites of the hits.
