Russia “handed over” the Severodonetsk-Lysychansk-Rubizhne agglomeration in the Luhansk region under the full “control” of its subject – the Republic of Tatarstan. A delegation from Tatarstan led by its Prime Minister Oleksiy Yesoshyn illegally visited the Ukrainian region.
This was reported in the Center of National Resistance on October 29. As noted, the delegation discussed with the occupation administrations alleged projects for the restoration of captured cities, as well as for the “re-education” of local youth.
The Russians agreed on a demonstrative “restoration of the infrastructure” of settlements. Workers will be sent from Tatarstan to Luhansk region, and they intend to settle them in apartments and houses, which the Russians recognized as “ownerless”.
In addition, Tatarstan is engaged in a program to “re-educate” local youth.
According to the Center of National Resistance, during October Russians took about 200 Ukrainian children to the “Zarechye” camp in Kazan. There, the Russians conduct “events” aimed at changing the national self-identification of small citizens of Ukraine.
In addition, according to the institution, phygital competitions (a combination of virtual game environments and real physical games) were held there. The Center of National Resistance does not rule out that in the future children will be recruited into UAV control units on the battlefield.
Also, Tatarstan will finance the opening of testing centers under the “ready for work and defense” program. This is a Russian form of sports and paramilitary youth education with a mandatory propaganda component. Usually, children are further promoted to participate in paramilitary organizations, such as the Army or the youth wing of Putin’s United Russia party.
With its invasion of Ukraine, which began back in 2014, Russia provoked a demographic crisis in the Luhansk region. Currently, the population of the region is only 1.5 million people, as the Russians themselves say.
