The number of dead as a result of the Russian air strike on Yarova in the Donetsk region has increased to 24. Currently, 19 people are injured, three of them are in serious condition.
This was reported by the head of the Lymansk city military administration, Alexander Zhuravlev.
According to preliminary data, the Russians hit the village with a KAB-250 guided air bomb.
Zhuravlev said that most of the dead were people of retirement age. Some of the wounded were evacuated to a hospital in Sloviansk.
Police, the State Emergency Service, military personnel, and military administration employees are working at the scene of the strike to establish the exact number of dead and wounded as a result of the strike.
The head of the Lymansk city military administration noted that the administration plans to change the format for issuing pensions and parcels after the Russian shelling.
“We will decide how Ukrposhta will continue to operate, because the front line is already less than 10 kilometers away, we will “delay” all these payments, somehow take people out so that they can receive pensions and parcels in safer places,” he added.
On September 9, Russia launched an airstrike on the village of Yarova in the Donetsk region, when civilians were receiving pensions near a Ukrposhta mobile point.
The village of Yarova is located in the Lymansk community in the Donetsk region, about 8 kilometers from the line of combat contact.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, commenting on the Russian airstrike on the village, called on the international community to take immediate measures.
