Russian army drops aerial bombs on central Sumy: two dead

Russian troops struck Sumy with aerial bombs. One of the strikes hit the grounds of a specialized children’s home, killing a 16-year-old girl and an elderly woman.

On Sunday, September 27, Russian troops struck the central part of Sumy with three guided aerial bombs, resulting in fatalities. One of the bombs hit the grounds of a specialized children’s home. Two deaths have been confirmed—including a 16-year-old girl—and at least five people were wounded.

One of the guided aerial bombs struck near a family and child support center, damaging the building. There were no visitors inside at the time of the strike.

Sumy has been under regular attack by guided aerial bombs in recent days. Just the day before, on September 26, Russian troops dropped three guided aerial bombs on the city. At that time, one of the aerial bombs struck a residential area in the center of Sumy. According to local authorities, two people were killed, and the number of injured later rose to 23. Among the injured were four children; those taken to the hospital included girls aged 14 and 8, as well as an 11-month-old infant.

Dozens of apartment buildings, a private house, a cultural center, two preschools, administrative buildings, and more than twenty vehicles sustained damage.
