Russian army strikes Odessa: high-rise building damaged, there are casualties

On the night of June 28, Russian troops launched a drone strike on a residential building in Odessa. As a result of the strike on the 21-story building, a fire broke out on three floors, some residents were trapped. Rescuers report at least two deaths and several injuries.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports this: “Odesa has been attacked again by Russian suicide bombers. Residential infrastructure has been damaged. Emergency and municipal services are working to eliminate the consequences.”

As a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out, covering the seventh, eighth and ninth floors. Residents were trapped in the apartments.

According to preliminary information, rescuers managed to evacuate five people, including a small child.

Unfortunately, two people died and at least four were injured. Rescuers, psychologists from the State Emergency Service, and the Indestructibility Point, deployed to assist the affected residents, are working at the scene of the tragedy.

The rescue operation was complicated by repeated air raid warnings issued in the region and the city during the night.

Rescue and search operations are ongoing. The authorities are urging citizens not to ignore air raid warnings and to follow safety measures.
