Since the beginning of July, the Russian military has increased the number of strikes with guided bombs on the Kherson region. In the first thirteen days of the month, they carried out as many airstrikes as in all of June.
According to the spokesman for the 30th Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Pavlo Drogal, since the beginning of July, the Russian military has already carried out nine airstrikes on the Kherson region, while there were also nine throughout June. Guided bombs cause significant damage to civilian and critical infrastructure, in particular energy facilities, and also pose a threat to the civilian population.
At the same time, the nature of Russian attacks in the Kherson direction has changed somewhat.
“The situation has not worsened, but it has changed somewhat. First, the number of enemy artillery strikes has decreased. This is happening because we are actively knocking out their artillery systems,” Drogal noted.
According to him, instead, the Russians are more actively using fiber-optic FPV drones, which are not affected by electronic warfare.
