Russian attack completely destroys Sparrow industrial park in Lviv

On the night of October 5, a Russian missile destroyed the Sparrow industrial park, located within Lviv, in the Sygnivka industrial zone. The park building, which covers an area of 18.82 hectares, was completely destroyed, as were the products stored there.

This was reported by the city’s mayor, Andriy Sadovyi.

“We built this industrial park, and today it is practically a fire,” he said.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development noted that there was never any military production in the park. It was an open and transparent space for business that created jobs and added strength to the Ukrainian economy.

“At night, a Russian missile destroyed the Sparrow industrial park in Lviv. The same park that literally grew out of a wasteland and became an example that the reform of industrial parks works, that Ukrainian industry can revive and grow even during war,” the committee’s post says.

During the attack, the warehouses of FM Logistics, a logistics partner of the Polish clothing manufacturer LPP (clothing brands Cropp, House, Sinsay, Reserved, Mohito), were damaged. According to preliminary estimates, LPP lost about five trucks of goods and part of its warehouse stocks. The final amount of damage is currently being specified.

According to Yarema Ivakhiv, General Director of LPP in Ukraine, supplies from FM Logistics will be restored next week.

It was not reported whether the fire was completely extinguished.

On May 14, 2021, the Ministry of Economy included the Sparrow industrial park in the Register of Industrial Parks. The park was created for 30 years. The priority activities in the park were mechanical engineering and metalworking, logistics (urban logistics), light and food industry, processing industry, woodworking, printing industry, and other industries compatible with the above.

On the night and morning of October 5, Lviv was subjected to a massive air attack using kamikaze drones and missiles. Four people died and four more were injured.
