On February 2, Russian troops launched an attack on Kharkiv. One of the city markets was hit. This was reported by the chairman Igor Terekhov.
According to the chairman, the Russians hit a commercial facility, while information about the scale of the destruction and the number of victims was first being clarified.
Subsequently, Terekhov reported that the strike fell on a market in the Slobodsky district of the city. Before that, he also reported about the attack of a Russian combat drone on the Osnovyansky district of Kharkiv.
As of now, it is known that two people were injured as a result of the strike on the market. In addition, damage was recorded to several shopping pavilions.
Information about the consequences of the attack and the condition of the victims is being clarified by the relevant services.
Terekhov reported how many houses in Kharkiv were damaged by the Russians in January
According to the chairman of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, in January, Russian missile and drone strikes damaged 283 residential buildings.
“In January alone, another 283 were added to the already recorded 9,300 damaged houses. Plus, almost 3.5 thousand broken windows in just one month. All the contours were closed as quickly as possible – in the first days after each Russian attack,” the Kharkiv chairman reported.
According to him, the nature of the damage varies significantly from house to house, and further decisions regarding each building will depend on this. In some cases, the shelling caused relatively little damage: broken windows, damaged facades or partial roof defects. In others, serious destruction of load-bearing structures, destroyed ceilings or entire floors was recorded, which requires long-term and comprehensive reconstruction.
All emergency facilities, after technical examinations, are recognized as not subject to further operation and are subject to dismantling. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 40 residential buildings in the city have received expert opinions on the state of emergency, Terekhov reported. Unfortunately, this list is not final – hundreds of examinations are currently underway.
