Russian attack on Kyiv: number of victims rises to 62, child among dead

On the night of April 16, Russian troops carried out another massive attack on Kyiv, resulting in deaths and injuries.

As reported by the capital’s National Police Department, as of 2:15 p.m., the number of victims has risen to 62.

Among them are children aged 5 and 9 and two more minors aged 16 and 17.

According to law enforcement officials, four people died, including a 12-year-old boy.

In total, about one and a half hundred police officers are involved in the work on the ground. Law enforcement officers are accepting applications from citizens regarding damage to housing and recording the consequences of the Russian attack. More than 200 applications have been received so far.

30 victims hospitalized in Kyiv

Four people died in Kyiv from the Russian attack, another 62 Kyiv residents were injured, including four children.

In Kyiv, 30 of the 62 victims who were injured as a result of the Russian attack on the night of April 16 were hospitalized. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko: “The Russians took the lives of four Kyiv residents, including a 12-year-old child. I sincerely sympathize with the relatives and friends of the deceased. 62 Kyiv residents were injured, including four children. Currently, 30 people are hospitalized in treatment facilities where they are receiving medical care.” According to him, 13 locations in four districts of Kyiv were affected by the shelling. “The Podilskyi and Obolonskyi districts were the most affected. There, warehouse buildings were burning on a large area, residential buildings and apartments of civilians were damaged,” Tkachenko said.
