Russian drone attacks freight train in Donetsk region: train driver injured

Another case of attack by Russian troops on civilian infrastructure occurred in the Donetsk region. An unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a freight train, injuring an employee of Ukrzaliznytsia. This was reported by the press service of the joint-stock company “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

“The proposals for a ceasefire are being ignored, Russian attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock continue: on the night of May 12, another Russian UAV attacked a civilian freight train in Donetsk region,” the company said in a statement.

As a result of the hit on the locomotive, the train driver received a shrapnel wound to his leg. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the life of the train driver is not in danger – he was promptly provided with the necessary medical assistance and transported to the hospital.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that despite the constant danger of working in areas near the front line, train drivers continue to perform their professional duties. For their own safety, employees use bulletproof vests, helmets and carry medical kits for first aid. It is worth noting that despite the attack by a Russian drone, train traffic on the area was not stopped.
