On the night of July 3, a Russian drone hit a nine-story residential building in Odessa, injuring four people. This was reported by chairman Gennady Trukhanov.
The drone strike caused a fire on the upper floors of the building from the seventh to the ninth floor. Rescuers evacuated 50 residents of the building, ten of whom had to be rescued with the help of special equipment, including two children.
Five people were blocked on the upper floors due to damage, but rescuers freed them. Among the rescued were two children. Three of the injured were taken to the hospital for medical care.
One of the entrances to the building was significantly damaged and was declared unsafe for occupancy. Gennady Trukhanov noted that an operational headquarters is working near the damaged building, coordinating work to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
After dismantling the emergency structures, experts will conduct a detailed assessment of the technical condition of the building to determine the possibility of further use of the premises. The Indestructibility Point of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has been deployed at the scene, where psychologists are working to provide assistance to the injured and evacuated residents. In addition to the residential building, the special equipment of the city’s water utility was also damaged during the drone attack on Odessa. Work to eliminate the consequences of the shelling is ongoing.
