Russian drone hits high-rise building in Odesa: teenager killed, 58 people evacuated

On the night of January 22, the Russian army carried out a drone attack in the Odesa region, as a result of which one of the drones hit a high-rise building. As a result of this attack, a young man born in 2009 died, which was a great tragedy for his family and loved ones. In total, 58 people were evacuated from the building, including 8 children.

The drone hit between the 18th and 19th floors of the apartment building, but without further detonation. The facade, glazing of the building and several parked cars were damaged. This night attack was part of a wider campaign, since, according to reports, on January 21, the occupiers also attacked the south of the Odesa region. The attack left one person injured and damaged residential and industrial infrastructure, including a furniture warehouse.

This is a great loss for everyone,” said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional administration, expressing condolences to the family of the deceased young man.

This attack highlights the continued hostilities in Ukraine, especially in the southern regions, where civilians are often victims of the conflict. The response of local authorities, who acknowledge the loss of life and try to ensure the safety of residents, is important. Such incidents raise concerns about the safety of civilians and the further escalation of the conflict in the region.
